June Lake Loop Fish Report

Fishing at Silver Lake is starting to pick up this past week. Since last Sunday we have seen at least twenty to twenty five nice size trout all weighing in over a pound and an abundance of nice stringers. DFG stocked again on Tuesday with another 900 pounds of catchables and as the weather continues to improve, we hope the fishing follows it. Worms have been the best, steady bait again this week both in the lake and in Rush Creek. As the water temperature continues to get warmer (41 right now), Power Baits will continue to be a hot ticket also. We are also starting to see some signs of fisherman using some flies and streamers and beginning to catch some nice fish with an Olive Matuka or Green Wooly Bugger. Tazmanian Devils and Thomas Bouyants have also produced some nice looking trout as well. June Lake anglers do best with chunky cheese Power Bait offered near the backside of the lake. Gull has been slow. Salmon egg red Power Bait is best bet here. The water is high at Grant and trolling a nightcrawler is a productive tactic. (760) 648-7756
