Shore fishing for trout has slowed. Trollers are finding trout are holding down between 35 to 45 feet deep, so downrigger or lead core line are the best way to get down to that depth. The area from Hat Island to the dam continues to be a favorite area to troll. Needlefish and Rapalas are the lures most often mentioned. The bass bite continues to be very good for anglers fishing from a boat, and also from the shore. Bass are holding in 10 to 20 feet of water. Look for rocky areas, trees, or brush. The most common baits are Senko's, brush hogs, and tube baits. The catfish bite is also going strong. Catfish are in rocky areas and prefer chicken liver and mackerel. Best bite is in the evenings.
