The lake is 97% full and the water temperature is 75 degrees. Trout are still being caught in the main lake but warmer weather has the trout going down to about 40 to 45 feet. Hat Island and along the buoy line at the dam are still hot spots for trollers. Powerbait in rainbow and chartreuse colors as well as night crawlers are still the favorites along with Rapala lures and Needlefish lures. Since the lake level rose so quickly, a lot of feed was created for channel catfish and many good reports have been coming in to the North Shore store. Most fish are caught with clams, crawlers, chicken liver, and shad. Find a drop off or timber area to target some shallow fighters. You can also throw three-inch grubs for spotted bass, crappie and bluegill. (209) 763-5915, (209) 763-5166
