June Lake produces for those soaking Power Bait and nightcrawlers. Chartreuse or Chunky Cheese Power Baits are the ticket. Gull Lake trout like salmon egg colored Power Bait. Worms has still been a steady beat to catch fish and Power Baits have been producing as well. Try using Salmon Peach , Garlic or Chartreuse Power Baits as these have brought in some nice size trout and some great stringers. If you like tossing a lure, try a Gold/Red Thomas Buoyant or a Brown Trout Thomas Buoyant from the creek or shoreline and if you want to troll, try using a Tazmanian Devil Or a Rapala. The water temperature at Silver Lake has been steadily increasing; currently 44 degrees, and those fish can be found about midrange on the depth finder. The bugs are just starting to hatch, so start to think about using some dry flies. Stick with what has worked the most consistent over the years; a mosquito, sierra bright dot or a black ant. If you want to troll with a fly streamer use a olive matuka, a green wooly bugger or a hornberg. Summer is here and the fishing is only getting rolling. Grant Lake is full and shore access is difficult. (760) 648-7756
