The Marina reports that Stony Point Landing, Porcupine, Rainbow and Blue Heron Points have all been better this week. Cooler water temperatures have drawn some trout back into the Recreation areas recently. Night crawlers, Power Eggs and Power Bait in yellow and white with garlic are the most successful offerings currently. Sliding sinker cast about 30’ out works well for the Power Bait and a water bobber for the night crawlers.
Trolling for trout has also improved somewhat as well. Try the Narrows in the vicinity of Mel’s Cove as well as the area between the River Mouth and the Face of the Dam. Most are trolling at 20 to 30 feet, spinning lures and a dodger or small flashers. NSome boaters continue to tie off in coves and bait fish from their boats with good results.
Water level continues to drop as EBMUD readies the Lake for winter rains. The water continues to recede about 6 inches per day. Water temperature is 59 degrees at 20 feet and 65 degrees at surface and clarity is good to 17’ plus as measured in the Marina.
