Fishing has been good for some and not so good for others. One day has fished different from any other. There have been more trout moving into the Youth Camp and Biology Station this week. Flourescent orange Needlefish, cop car and minnow imitations. Watch out for the major rock pile as the buoys have been removed from it. There are a few more trout on the north side of Miners Point and the south side of Pelican Point but they are holding out in deeper water rather than on the shallow rock piles. There are a few in close, but the numbers seem to be holding over deeper water. Shore fishing at the Youth Camp/Biology Station is picking up. Surface temps there are holding around 53-54. Generally this area is good fishing this time of year but the trigger temp that drives the masses back to the slightly warmer water to the south is 46 degrees. There were a few fish on the north side of the tip of Pelican Point accessible to waders, but their timing in close was not predictable. Fish remain scattered in the south basin. The heavy waves that pounded the lake last week simply scoured the shoreline of easy pickin’s and drove the tui chub minnows to deeper water. www.eaglelakefishing.net.
