The McCloud River is fishing well mainly in the middle of the day, it will continue until it closes on November 15th. Look in the tail outs for big browns and use an intermediate sink link with a green drake nymph or bugger and fish from above the trout down at 45 degrees or nymph with a hopper – dropper use size 16 flash back PT for dropper 5 feet from hopper and approach from behind the fish when you get close enough, cast above him at 45 degrees and try not to spook the brown. You can also use two nymphs below the dry fly if you need more weight to get the nymph down. Be sure all your hooks are de-barbed. Look for fish in every tail out, you’ll be surprised what you see. Campground at AhDiNah is closed. www.jacktrout.com, (530) 926-4540
