East Walker River Fish Report

The East is fishing really well, the flows have been at 40 cfs for a week or so now. Some anglers are reporting 20 to 30 fish per day, lots of fish in the 14 to 20 inch range. Small midge patterns have been the best thing but we have had some good reports on dries as well as dry/dropper rigs. If you’re fishing in the upper mile keep your dries small, in the 18 to 20 size range. If you’re fishing below “The Mile” or down in Nevada you can go with larger dries as there’s some stonefly action happening in those areas. Patterns to fish include: flashback emerger, mercer’s midgeling, san juan worm, zebra midge, WD-40, GT emerger, copper john, pheasant tail, blue dun, blue wing olive, chubby Chernobyl, parachute adams, rubber leg stimulator, poxyback stone, micro stone, prince nymph, hare’s ear. www.kenssport.com (760) 932-7707
