Kokanee bite has started. Target the mouth of the dam pocket or off the Spillway at depths from 20- to 40-feet (20 feet early in the morning to depths around 40 feet under a bright sky). Shoepeg corn is a must with scented flavors of
garlic or anise during this early season bite. Uncle Larry’s spinners, Glitter Bug Hoochies or Vance’s Sockeye Slammers a good bet for the kokanee. Rainbows are scattered but expect bows to 16-inches trolling the open waters of the main lake. Surface water temp is nearing 58 degrees and a lady bug hatch is enticing a surface bite. Bass fishing is good. Not a lot of fish being caught but some giants are showing up. These giant fish are being caught on mainly jigs, worms, and swim baits. Try fishing main lake points leading into spawning areas. These are staging areas where the fish will stacked up before they spawn. Glory Hole Sports (209) 736-4333, (209) 586-2383
