The Dorado area of the east shore has held the hot bite for the past week but Almanor West, is known for the spring bite. It’s just starting to kick in. Guide Doug Neal fished it over the weekend and had plentiful action with two to three pound browns and rainbows.
East shore, Lake Cove and the Dorado areas are still happening.
Rec. 1 to Bunell point kicked out a couple browns pushing 4 pounds off dodger/nightcrawler combos 20 feet deep. Insect hatch's can be found all over the lake. Fish are moving into these areas in bigger numbers and staying there.
Insect hatches have taken some pressure off the smelt. Doug Neal (530) 258-6732 http://www.almanorfishingadventures.com
