Water temperature is 74 degrees at the end of the dock. Stripers are still biting anchovies of Zara Spooks in the early morning or evening; best places are Swallow Bay and the Upper and Lower Narrows along the shelves. Largemouth bass bite has slowed down a bit. Best lures to use right now are deep diving crankbaits, frogs, and spooks. Smallmouth bite has picked up they are still biting off Crankbaits, Jerkbaits, shad-like lures, frogs, spooks, and Panther Martins with bucktails. Try the shelves in Heron Bay and the shelves along the Narrows by rock walls and gradual drop offs for both largemouth and smallmouth. Catfish are definitely still in action biting on any bait. Downed trees in the Narrows and coves in Heron Bay are good spots to try out, but they are all over the lake in any brushy, shallow areas. (925) 449-5201
