Upriver around Deer Island, Columbia Gulch and Indian Rock have been the best areas for Kokanee. Kokanee continue to hang in the cooler, deeper water in the 90 to 100 foot strata. Fishermen have reported the Kokanee they got recently have shown NO signs of turning as yet. Trollers continue to use Uncle Larry’s copper pops and pinkies along with wedding rings, apex and sling blades behind silver/gold or watermelon dodgers. Check at the Marina for all your fishing supplies, snacks and updated fishing information and hot spots.
Trollers looking for Trout have been working the face of the dam, the river mouth and the inlet barrel line in the southern end of the lake. They are still at 40 to 60 feet of water. The Marina reports both Pho-ebe and Boyant lures in pinks and rainbow color schemes are doing well with or without corn and flashers. Once again bait fishing from the back of a boat in the coves from Mel’s to Rattlesnake has been good also.
Cat fishing was good last week in the cove behind the Marina and under and around Tom Sawyer Bridge, chicken livers, Power Bait and night crawlers are all working well.
Bass fishing has also been good up river, along rocky points and coves. Plastic worms have been the best lately.
