Silver Lake Fish Report

The Fishing at Silver Lake in the June Lake Loop has stayed very steady over the past weeks due to some nice stockings by both DFW and a very nice load of Alper’s Trout dumped in the lake last week before the holiday weekend. The weather has also started to cool off a little at night which has made for some good fishing early and later in the afternoon. We have easily seen fifteen plus fish over 3 pounds and lots of nice looking trout in the two plus pound range. Both Grant Lake and Rush Creek have also seen some very nice trout brought in the past few weeks. There doesn’t seem to be one or two types of bait or tackle that are working best, as we have seen a wide variety of lures, bait and flies all working lately. Look for Garlic, Salmon Peach, and Rainbow Glitter Garlics to be seeing good results as well as worms. In the lure department, the ever consistent Thomas Buoyant Gold and Red has and always will do well as well as taking some Rapalas or a Tasmanian Devil deeper trolling. If you like flies, look at using a Royal Wulff or a Sierra Bright Dot or troll a Green Wooly Bugger or Olive Matukas near the surface early in the morning. Fishing will only get better as the weather continues to get cooler and the fall starts to inch towards us.Silver Lake (760) 648-7525
