The anglers working the banks are using Power Bait (eggs or worms) with garlic and glitter. Pistol Pete’s and Mouse (mice) Tails, in addition pink Power Worms and nightcrawlers on a water bobber have been successful lately.
Trollers are still detecting lots of fish near the Dam Face and along the barrel line in the South End but they have gone deep and are not biting much. Others have moved upriver near Indian Rock and have done well at 65 feet. The lures and equipment are still the same but depths have changed. Kokanee continue to be caught in this vicinity, most if not all in the 10 to 13 inch range. Not too much info this report on trout, sounds like they are moving about the Lake looking for a cooler strata to hang in. Both species have been congregating at the 35 to 65 foot level due to the hot surface temperatures of late. Uncle Larry’s copper pops and pinkie along with wedding rings, apex and sling blades behind silver/gold or watermelon dodgers.
Look for catfish in the River arm and the southern coves, sounds like they have begun to move into the coves that are warming up from Mel’s cove to Rattlesnake. Chicken livers Power Bait and nightcrawlers are the baits of choice.Water level has risen to 2 to 4 feet from spillway and is holding steady. Water temperature is 64 degrees at 20 feet and 68 degrees at surface as measured in the Marina. Water clarity is good to 17’ plus in the Marina.
