Water temps in the south basin were between 50 and 52 degrees Sunday which is a slight drop in the last few days. Despite a few more days of wind, the long range forecast for Thanksgiving and the weekend appear to be pretty nice. Pelican Point and Slough Point are still hot and providing double digit catch and release prospects. A lot of action all along the west side to Wildcat. As water temperatures cool down more in the middle basin, trout that are in the shallows will begin to move back to the Youth Camp/Biology Station and Pelican Point where they have a tendency to stage for a couple of weeks. But, once the water temps there drop into the mid to low 40’s, the trout move back to deeper, warmer water. Eventually, they have no choice but as long as they do, they migrate around the lake.
There are still fish off the Springs and Eagle’s Nest to Black Mountain & Miners Point and in all depths of water, including the shoreline. These pods are pretty scattered, but there are a lot of them cruising up and down and in and out. www.Eaglelakefishing.net
