Contra Costa Water District has lowered the reservoir to perform vegetation management and install a gauge that will provide facility operators with easily obtained accurate elevation readings.  It is down about 7-8 feet.  For further information please contact Contra Costa Water District at 925-688-8000. Trout fishing has been good. Try using a variety of Power Baits or nightcrawlers at the boat ramp area or near the Swim Lagoon. Catfish bite is strong. Use nightcrawlers, anchovies, shrimp, or chicken liver at Loma Island, Channel Point or near the Swim Lagoon. Bass are found all around the lake. Big catches last week include: Bob Martinez with catfish weighing 14.4 and 11.6 pounds; Linh Dang with a 23.1 pound catfish  and John Kolb Jr. with a 9.3 pound trout. (510) 544-3154
