A good week of daily afternoon rain has started to cool off the waters and increased the water flow from all of our creeks and streams. Alger Creek, which is a natural creek flowing in from the high country had been dried up for well over a month, is now flowing again all the way to Silver Lake thanks to the recent rain. Anglers have continued to do well on Rush Creek using a variety of different things, from good old fashioned worms to a Kastmaster to several different flies, like a #16 Yellow Humpy or a #16 Adams Parachute. Using a fly or a bubble or the standard fly fishing methods have produced some very nice stockers as DFG has continued to plant Rush Creek on a weekly basis, generally early in the week.
Silver Lake which was once again stocked with 900 pounds of DFG fish and will get another load of Alper's this coming week, has also seen some very nice stringers both from shore and from a boat. Fishing from the point where Alger Creek dumps into Silver Lake or the far East end of Silver has been seeing good action. Also using, the ever consistent Thomas Buoyant in gold/red have helped to haul in several nice looking stringers and an occasional larger fish. The fish are out there, the water is cooling off and the fishing continues to be steady here at Silver Lake and Rush Creek.Silver Lake (760) 648-7525
