Almanor Lake Fish Report

Water clarity is 15 feet and surface temps are 69.5 degrees.
Smoky afternoons filter that sunshine, and surface temps will continue to creep downward.
There's still smoke from the fires, but its been doable in the morning.
By late morning the wind shifts, south east breezes push the smoke back toward Almanor and air quality is poor after 1:00 pm.
Fishing is good. Trolling Speedy Shiners at 2.5 mph at 25 to 40 feet down gets fish in the 2 pound class. Strike Master chartreuse dodger crawler combos and slowing down to a 1.2 to 1.5 mph brought better action - mostly rainbows up to 3.6 pounds. Fat, clean, and perfect, with a couple salmon under 18 inches.
