Fishing at Silver Lake has slowed down a little this past week due to some super warm temperatures and a full moon a few days ago. Don't be fooled though, as there are plenty of fish in the lake thanks to another 900 pounds of nice size trout dumped into the lake by DFG on Wednesday. We saw several nice size rainbows come in from both the shore and boats this week, ranging in size from 1 to 3 pounds and several nice looking stringers. getting up early and getting on the lake and creek will produce some nice catches, as long as you are on the water before the sun starts to warm it up. Once the sun is on the water and the temperature is increasing, continue to take your bait deep to the cooler waters. If you are still fishing, use Gulp's new Alive Chunky Cheese Pinched Crawler or the Gulp Alive Red Wiggler or any other dough baits that have garlic in them have been doing well. If you are a troller, "deep" is the word of the week, as most fish seem to be at about the 40 to 45 foot range in the cooler water. A Rapala or a Tazmanian Devil will work nicely. Flipping a Thomas Buoyant, Gold/Red, will also show some nice results.
