Great bite on anchor.
Big Springs and the A-Frame have been hot these days. Salmon are in there, lots of them, averaging 18 to 19 inches.
There's a few bigger fish moving in now, a few at 2.75 to 3.25 pounds.
With surface temps really beginning to climb more fish are holding in deeper cooler water.
Trollers are scattered all over the east basin.
Fish are looking thick and healthy, gorging themselves on the now abundant pond smelt population which has taken the top slot on the menu.
Most insect hatches are in decline.
Trolling anywhere in the east basin you will see evidence of smelt.
We picked up a few larger rainbows these past few days and that what they are eating. The big fish are just hammering them.
Rec. 1 to the tip of the Almanor Peninsula and on to Goose Island is a good bet.
Or, Rec. one north toward the A-Frame.. good reports of fish in the 3 lb. class.
Rocky Point to the Dorado, evening troll and mooch has been outstanding, 4 fish reported last nigh in the 3.5 to 4.5 range, all Browns..yahoo!
Heavy fishing pressure in the Big Springs area..and why not there's a great bite, trolling or on the drift..its all good, just watch where your going, cuz the other boat probably aint.
