Kokanee, trout and king salmon are on a wide open bite. Guide Bruce Hamby caught 14-inch kokanee weighing 1-1/2 pounds and a good number went to 16 inches. King salmon to four pounds and rainbows to four pounds also are being caught. Last week, Hamby’s clients caught 10 salmon to four pounds and eight rainbows to four pounds and then at mid-morning switched to kokanee and caught 15 kokanee in two hours. Fish are almost as fat as they are long. Bass anglers are using drop-shot shad-patterned worms or drag brown and purple jigs from 30 feet deep to the bank. Most of the bass are small, less than three. Bait Barn (209) 874-3011, (209) 586-2383
