The bite remained very strong this past week. Kokanee fishing is wide open in most areas. Fleming Bay, Graveyard Bay, into the Big Creek arm are a few areas holding good schools of kokanee. Target depth is 40 feet at first light down to 60 under a bright Sun. Garlic or fresh water shrimp flavored shoepeg
corn were top producing scents. Effective lures are Uncle Larry’s spinners, Marni Bugs, Vance’s Sockeye Slammers and Glitter Bug Hoochies in colors of U-V, orange or Pink. Rainbows are on a good bite in the first thirty feet of the water column. Flasher/night crawler combos are a good ticket. King salmon to three pounds are active at depths from 75 to 110 feet over the river channel off Hatch Creek. Rolled anchovies or threadfin shad, glow Apex’s or Wiggle hoochies behind a 6-inch Sling Blade producing the bite on the salmon. Water level is remaining stable with a favorable surface temp of 69 degrees and water clarity about 10 feet.
