Fishing at Frenchman Lake has been great this past week. Had a good report on the fly fishing from Truckee River Outfitters guide, Rob Anderson. His party caught and released 47 beautiful rainbows caught float tubing, using flies on the north end of the lake. Another party caught 14 lbs of fish using Salmon, Peach and Rainbow Powerbait. Bank fishermen using nightcrawlers are getting limits also.
Gary Bonano of Cold Springs, NV reported that he and his fishing partner, Ral Klundby of Portola, CA have been catching many rainbows off the bank in the coves above Lunker Point. Gary reports that the fish have an attitude, so try your luck with Cone Heads, Copper Johns, or black Copper Johns. Productive lures are Panther Martins, yellow with black spots - and frog-type Kastmasters.
