Those "happy campers" and fishermen came out last week for the April 28th stream opener. They were not disappointed.
Not many reports on the streams, but the lake was very productive using nightcrawlers and trolling "Jake’s Lures" or other black type lures. Green frog lures are also doing well.
Larry Mitchell of Reno, caught a nice 17 ½" rainbow - 2.66 lbs near the dam with crawlers.
The best flies to use right now are olive or black wooly buggers. Fish near the dam.
Also, float tubers are using various flies such as copper johns, beadhead, prince nymphs or any weighted nymph up on the north end of Frenchman Lake.
Campgrounds open are Chilcoot, Frenchman, Spring Creek, and Big Cove.
