Montana Fish Report

A plant of 600 pounds of Mount Lassen trout went in the south shore pond and another 1,200 pounds went in at the North Shore Marina. Bait fishing from the shore has been productive. The day use area on the south shore has been productive for trout. Trollers do best at Hat Island, the dam and down the center channel. Best action is five to 15 feet deep. The North Shore’s most active area is the primitive stretch where catfish are biting. Victoria Apalit caught four catfish weighing 27 pounds with nightcrawlers.  Bass anglers go upriver to Lancha Plana for good action. (209) 763-5915, (209) 763-5166
