Warming air temps and warming waters have produced what was a good bite into a very good bite here on Don Pedro. Rainbows are active and on a good bite off Laughlin Island, Jenkins Hill and into the Big Creek arm at depths from the surface
to 20 feet. Productive setups this past week included Uncle Larry’s spinners, Ex-Cel lures or your basic nightcrawler teamed behind a small set of flashers, dodger or sling blade. Kokanee are beginning to show at depths from 25 to 40 feet in Graveyard Bay falling for spinners tipped with garlic-flavored shoepeg corn. King salmon are a good bet, working the water column from 70’ to 120’ in Mexican Gulch, off the face of the dam or trolling the buoy line in Big Creek. Watermelon Kokanee Killers, glow wiggle Hoochies or rolling Theadfin shad for kings from 12- to 19-inches with bigger kings to three pounds.
