West Carson is best early and late. Dry fly hatches have been good with caddis coming off in the evenings. Use attractor patterns or foam ants early to mid-morning. The bait section of the East Carson has been stocked heavily and fished heavily. Stoneflies and mid-day hoppers are present. The trophy section below Hangman’s Bridge is best approached before 8 a.m. with stoneflies or little yellow sallies with small caddis or Copper John droppers. Fish have been coming up for ants and smaller grasshopper patterns. Caddis is best late evening. (530) 541-8208
