East Walker River Fish Report

The flows on the East Walker are down to about 262 right now and have been there for the last few days. The fishing is still excellent down there. It seems like the mid-week pressure is a bit lower than it was, probably because of the fact that most of the other rivers in the area are shaped up now with the run-off being done so folks are able to spread out a bit more. Caddis and small midge patterns are producing well, also there's still some good trico action in the mornings and good dry caddis action in the evenings. Dry/dropper rigs have also been making an impressive showing. Some patterns that have been working include: E/C caddis, Blooms para caddis, elk hair caddis, madam X, herbie's, zebra midges, silver streaks, Weirs caddis, fox's poopah, la fontaines sparkle pupa, z-wing caddis. The flows on the West Walker are down in the low 200's now and it's really fishing well. Spinners, bait or flies are all doing well, both down in the canyon section and up in the Pickle Meadows area. Panther Martins, Roostertails, salmon eggs and crawlers for the bait anglers, princes, hare's ears, hoppers and humpy's for the fly anglers have all been good. www.kenssport.com (760) 932-7707
