Fishing pressure is light, boats are scattered all across both basins.
Just a few boats trolling, pulling up and moving often. While trolling the west peninsula we found lots of small schools of bait fish. Matched up with solid sonar marks of feeding Browns pushing them around and leading to some nice action.
Mostly Browns are in this trolling lane, with only one Rainbow caught and no Salmon,
We weren't seeing any big fish, but enough action to make it good. Browns were all from 16 to 18” also thick, and looking healthy.
Targeting Salmon? The Salmon bite is better from Canyon Dam south along the east shore, where 2 year old kings have been providing most of the strikes, averaging 17 to 18”, a few larger 3 year olds in the 2.5 lbs. range.
These Kings are hitting at depths ranging from 25 to 50 ft. deep. Again white trolling flies, the fish can see them just a little better when clarity is rather limited....like now.
