Montana Fish Report

Salmon fishing is wide open. Doesn’t seem to matter what you use. Spoons, spinners will work. No reason to use roe. Quality is good and there are fish with scales in the lower river. Flatfish with sardine wraps will get salmon out of the deeper holes. Bigger grade of fish are below the Oroville Wildlife Area. Jacks are eating eggs so glo-bugs or corkies will get those five to seven pound fish. There’s more fish in the river than I’ve seen since 1987. River closes to salmon fishing on Monday.
