Surface temps are currently at 60.5 degrees, down from 69.5 just last week.Downright nasty weather the past few days kept most boats in.
Significantly reduced surface temps, add in that big old moon, and the “early bite” has taken a nose dive.
Expect temps to slowly climb as high barometric pressure moves in.
Still cool enough for fish to remain scattered around both basins, till it starts getting hot again.
Now it will take a couple more days of good weather for it to get back to where it was before the storm.
The late morning bite has been best as that moon builds. And the late afternoon to early evening troll is the answer to that full moon.
Lake Cove to the Dorado has been productive. Some bigger 2 year old salmon have moved in, and are hitting trolled threaded crawlers rigged down 25 feet.
Browns and rainbows there as well but the salmon always seen to whack the bait first.Dodger/crawler combos, or Flasher/crawler combos are getting bigger fish.
