Surface temps are averaging 59 degrees, climbing to 61.5 degrees by mid-day. Trolling has been more effective than bait fishing deep holes, and should remain that way until surface temps spike.
The trolling bite has been spectacular one day, and soft the next. A couple boats reported 14 fish one day, three the next.
The moon is dark and the bite is generally good. Expect a good early morning bite to improve, work the top water early, and go deeper into the morning and early afternoon. East Shore insect hatch are happening big time. Lake Cove and the Dorado areas holding rainbows, browns and an occasional king.
Lake Haven Resort near the Hamilton Branch reported DFG dumped a another 28,000 fingerling salmon off their ramp. Probably some huge Browns in there feeding. The best bite has been real early, starting at 5:30 am
