Summer is starting to wind down, but the fishing has not. Local pair had good luck at the dam, caught two 16-inch rainbow trout, and three catfish, two 12-inch and one 15-inch. They were using nightcrawlers, and they were fishing early evening.
Shore fishing has been good at Nightcrawler Bay, Crystal Point, and near Spring Creek Campground. Most have been using nightcrawlers in combination with powerbait or marshmallows, even salmon eggs. Lures being used are Rooster Tails (brown, black, green) and Rocky Mountain Assasins (green, yellow, red).
Trolling has been good at the north end and near Crystal Point. They are going about 30 to 40 feet deep, during the midday you need to go deeper. Fishermen are using various lures, Dick Nite Copper Red Head, Tasmanian Devil, and various Umpqua flies ( black, green, brown ). (530) 993-4683
