Clarity is excellent, about 12 feet.
I have been catching fish from Rocky Point to the Fox Farm, trolling Seps Strike Master Dodgers with a crawler 18 to 20 " back and rigged down 20 feet at 1.5 mph or less, and its been great..mostly browns and a few rainbows.
A couple radios reported king salmon to 20 inches. Today we Also got a few nice Rainbows and Browns over near Rec. 1, but deeper, to 36 feet. Again with the Strike Master/crawler combo...totaling 18 hookups, and boxing 2 limits of fish all over 2 pounds.
Dodgers and crawlers, Speedy Shiners, Needlefish are all catching fish.
The east basin is the place to be for salmon and trout. The west side is warming up alot, but that's where the bass bite is soaring as well, lots of unconfirmed reports of smallies up to 4 pounds.
Fishing pressure been light, the economy, gas prices, whatever, there's been noticeably less boat traffic, including jet kis and the dreaded wake board boats..
Its a great time to be here.
