Charter boats are scratching for salmon and getting one to four salmon per boat. If you can find the bait, you find the salmon but there are few fish. A 20 pound salmon is leading the season-long Englund Marine Supply salmon derby. When the weather holds boats get to Cape Mendocino for outstanding rock cod fishing. Few are pursuing halibut but a few 30 and 40 pound fish come in every day. (707) 444-9266
