Due to some cooler weather and some nice summer rain showers, it has been epic up here at Silver Lake. All the normal baits have been working with Berkley Mice Tails, Berkley Power Baits in Garlic, Sherbet, Salmon Egg Red and Rainbow Glitter Garlic seeing the best results as well as worms early in the mornings. Try dipping your bait into “Bite On” Garlic bait attractant as it will help attract the trout and disguise the smell of your hands and odor from the fish. “It Works!!!!” As for lures, look for Thomas Buoyant in Gold/Red, Florescent Red or Rainbow to work well, as well as Tasmanian Devils and Panther Martins. As calm as the lake has been the past week plus, look to use a dry fly like a Pale Morning Dun, Sierra Brite Dot or a California Mosquito with your fly rod or spinning rod with a bubble. Continue to take your baits deep as the water temperature is rising and is sitting at about 59 degrees at the surface of the lake. Fishing doesn’t get much better in the hot month of July then it was this past week. Silver Lake (760) 648-7525
