The fishing at Silver Lake has been great due to some timely stocking by DFG (on Mondays) and a nice load of Alper’s the week before the 4th of July Holiday weekend. The weather has cooled from the last heat wave and the weather has settled into its normal summer pattern of 70 to 80 degrees with some afternoon breeze. The water temperature at the surface is sitting around 54 degrees this week which is not bad for this time of year. Anglers are still seeing good results both out in a boat trolling at about 4 colors deep with lead core and on the surface with Thomas Buoyant Gold/Red lures, as well as getting some streamers like a Rainbow Hornberg or Olive Wooly Bugger a little deeper. Berkley Mice Tails have been the hottest ticket out on the lake. All colors have seen good results but the brighter the better right now. Also Pinch Crawlers in Orange, natural or chartreuse have also seen nice results. From the Power Bait stand point, Salmon Egg Red, Rainbow Glitter Garlic or any bright color has also done very well this past week. Silver Lake (760) 648-7525
