Shad bite is slow. Mouth of the river is closed and the river is low. Persistent anglers get one to six per outing. Johnson’s Beach, Guernwood Park are good spots. Smallmouth bite is picking up. Alexander Valley is a good spot to start. King’s Sporting Goods (707) 869-2156
