There is ice on the lake in the morning and it is starting to stay longer and longer each day. Mostly on the east side of the lake. The west side is still open and they are catching their limits near Lunkers Point and just north of the boat landing. Shore fishing has been good. Catching rainbow trout approximately 14 - 18 inches long, eighing 1 to 1 ½ pounds. Fishermen are using nightcrawlers and marshmallows (Chartruese and Pink Shrimp). Few are using powerbait (Rainbow and Garlic). The roads around the lake are still passable, but early morning there may be ice on some parts of the roads. Early afternoon seems to be the best time to fish. (530) 993-4683
