Water surface temperature has cooled to 58 degrees. Bass fishing has been decent for slot sized with fish hitting all the usual baits, - 4” straight tail worms, 2”tubes and small jigs with natural colors. There’s a fair top-water bite on Pop-R’s, Rico’s and Zara Spooks just before sunrise, then drop-shot small tubes and worms to suspended fish. Small bass shallower with some fish to 3+lbs being caught around 40 to 50 feet deep, all the way down to 80 feet deep. Some fish being caught on swim baits near the steeper banks on the lake. Coho fishing has been fair with fish being caught both trolling from 35 to 80 feet deep and mooching cut bait. The little Coho are all over the lake and should be released to grow up. A few good size fish over three pounds are still being caught, using a good sized dodger and a white UV hoochie tipped with a tiny chunk of salt cured anchovy, or sling blade with a threaded nightcrawler and spoons like the ½ ounce Kastmaster. The green bridge, dam and main body points were giving up two or three good sized fish a rod for those who work at catching the silvers. Huntington’s Sportsmen’s Store \ (530) 534-8000.
