Water is coming out of Lake Mendocino and for the next four weeks there will be a constant flow of 500 cfs. That will keep the mouth open and kings and silvers are in. Those fish can’t be fished for, but there are half-pound steelhead in the river. Steelhead range is from Forestville to Monte Rio as they follow the salmon. Bait can be used beginning Nov. 1. It’s artificial and barbless for now. (707) 869-2156
