Lake Alpine has been planted several times in the past few weeks and the fishing is excellent. The Alpine County Fish and Game Commission planted this past Saturday with fish up to approximately 10 pounds. The campgrounds have been full every weekend. Bait casters should try the new garlic scented Power Eggs, Gulp Power Bait, Power Bait, Gulp Eggs, and inflated night crawler on a sliding sinker rig. Lure fishermen should try Kastmasters, Rapala's, Panther Martin spinners, Rooster Tails, Blue Fox spinners, Thomas Buoyants, and flies on a cast-a-bubble. Fly fishermen should try woolly buggers, stone flies, sparrow nymphs, adams, caddis, ants, muddlers, and bead head nymphs. Trollers should try using a Wild Thing, Glitter Bug, Sling Blade, Seps, or Rocky Mountain dodger with a Glitterbug Hoochie, Cripplure, Needlefish, Wedding Rings, Apex tipped with a nightcrawler or Gulp Corn, the new Berkley Mice Tails, and Gulp Nightcrawler.
