Recieved a call from good friend and client Ralph Murphy from Copperopolis this past Tuesday informing me that his wife Eva had a birthday coming up and he would like to surprise her with a trout fishing trip on nearby Lake Tulloch. I met Ralph and Eva at the resort and we shoved off, at the 5mph buoy lines I started putting our presentations out which included two Vance's Slim Fin's, one Uncle Larry's Spinner and one rod set with a shad harness for rolling shad and all lures were fished either behind a Shasta Tackle SlingBlade, Crystal Basin Wildthing or a Vance' 4/0 Dodger. With all rods in and maybe 100 yards from the resort Eva had her first take down on a hammered silver Slim Fin, after a brief battle we netted a 17" two pound beautiful Rainbow. Action like this continues thoughout the morning with both Eva and Ralph limiting on Bows to three pounds. We worked mostly from the resort to the bridge and into the Green Spring arm and back. Our magic depth was from 20' to 25' trolling at 1.5mph with our presentations 50' behind the ball. Surface temp at 68 degrees with good water clarity. (209) 586-2383
