Eagle Lake Fish Report

Trout fishing is outstanding here. Even with two days of pretty tough winds, the Eagle Lake trout bite didn't turn off or even slow. The surface water temperature warmed to 56-57 degrees this week. The trout moved closer to shore in greater numbers and the early morning bite turned on. Trolling the west side of the lake from Slough Pt. down to Wildcat Pt in eight- to 20-feet of water is productive. This week there was no need to move out of the shallow water as the fish moved in and stayed in until late morning. Troll baits 150 feet behind the boat from the surface down to eight feet deep. The most consistent bait has been a Sep's #2 Watermelon Grub. Several fish were 19-20 inches and three pounds plus. (530) 825-3454
