Flows have dropped and the river is very fishable. The June hog redand are moving in from the lake.
The yellow sally stonefly hatch is going strong at the ODFW boat ramp and downstream. These small yellow stoneflies are most active from 7-9 pm. Lots of other insects are hatching as well including golden stoneflies, Epeorus mayflies, PMD mayflies, white miller caddisflies, and a few salmonflies still around. The large Hex mayfly should be hatching any day now. These are the largest mayfly in Oregon and hatch at dark.
Most of the catch is 8 to 14 inch Redband Trout but bigger Redband Trout are moving in from the lake. These bigger trout will take large leech, streamer and wooly bigger patterns as well as lures mimicking minnows.
