Cave Lake: For the first time in nearly 6 years, Cave Lake is at capacity and spilling. Water levels reached normal pool on 3/14/25. To date, 7,895 rainbow trout averaging 10.6 inches have been stocked this spring. Water temperatures are sitting around 540F. Anglers should expect to catch hatchery stocked trout, but there is also a chance to catch trout carried over from previous years. Anglers will catch trout on nightcrawlers, PowerBait, spinners (Mepps and Panther Martins), and a variety of wetflies behind a bubble. Additional stocking events will occur through the month of May and early June. The boat dock is in the water and boating is allowed. Float tubes, kayaks, and canoes can be launched at the eastern end of the lake.
